Cylinder Head for 76-78 VW Bus 2000cc Engine

This is a brand new AMC cylinder head for the 76-78 VW Bus. It comes complete with valves and springs. These are made in Spain and are very high quality. The ports are oval so if you have a 79 you should confirm if you have the oval port or the D port as they were switching over to the Vanagon style head in 79 and some of them used those. These new heads do NOT use or require a head gasket so please do not install one as this can cause problems. The old metal head gaskets caused many problems with compression loss and VW actually put out a service bulletin that allowed you to omit them. The new heads are designed for the head to push up against the cylinder and that is what seals the cylinder which is better than a head gasket and won't blow as easily. I would recommend replacing these in pairs since they are a slightly different design than original.
