Diesel Vanagon Oil Filler Conversion Kit for 82 Diesel

The 82 Diesel Vanagon has lots of one year only things that can be a pain to get if they break or go bad.  One of the bigger problem child parts is the oil filler tube.  The original one was almost all plastic and a dipstick in the center of the cap.  The filler can crack, the dipstick is plastic and can break.  If either of these happen, there are no new parts available.  Finding good used ones is pretty much impossible.  Our solution?  Install the filler tube and dipstick parts from the 83 and newer Diesel and Turbo Diesel Vanagon!  All of these parts are available as new ones at the moment.  Here is a list of what is in our kit:

Dipstick tube o-ring 

The new dipstick is metal and goes into a metal tube that goes into the block.  You will need to remove a plug that is in the block to install the new dipstick tube.  Beside that, the install is a bolt on.
