Front Door Power Lock Actuator for all Vanagon

The front door power lock actuator or motor for the Vanagon is no longer available from any source that I know of.  However the Eurovan power door lock actuator will work and VW actually sold this as a replacement for the Vanagon with a conversion wiring harness to allow you to plug it into your existing harness.  We supply you with the aftermarket Eurovan door lock actuator and the Vanagon harness as a kit so you can replace your old actuator.  The old one is black and the new ones are smaller and green.  They look different, but they fit and work the same.  If you have a green one already with the adapter harness let us know and we can sell you just the actuator.  If you have the original actuator, then you will need this kit.  

FYI: many times the problems folks have with the front door electrics like the power door locks, the power mirrors, and the power windows, are because of broken wires in the front door jamb either on the driver's side (most common) or the passenger side or both.  Investigating these areas before buying new electrical items is usually the best course of action.  You will see a black, accordian boot going from the door to the body at the front edge in the hinge area.  The wires are inside of this boot.  Pull one end of the boot and look for broken wires (pull on them to see if the broken one will pull out).
