This is the metal frame that the front door seal that goes on the leading edge of the front door, mounts on. This is for the left side (passenger side in the USA). If you have an earlier Vanagon you might be able to use this frame to retrofit the front edge seal on your Vanagon, but I don't have any experience with doing that.
