This is a new wiring harness that is for the alternator for all 83-92 VW Vanagon with a Waterboxer Engine. Your old alternator harness is worn out, and never was really up to the job. This new one is new, and also beefed up to help carry more current. It is JUST for the aternator so don't expect to replace all of the wiring in the engine bay with this. Just the blue and red wires on the alternator.
